Ethiopia’s Prime Minister has inaugurated the Grand Renaissance Dam in the country’s northwest, Africa’s largest dam. The dam is set to double Ethiopia’s electricity production, marking a milestone for the nation’s energy sector. However, leaders from Egypt and Sudan boycotted the ceremony, fearing it will limit their share of Nile water.
Al Jazeera’s Bernard Smith reports from northwestern Ethiopia.
