Hichilema wins second second term as president of copper-rich Zambia

Zambia’s Hakainde Hichilema has won re-election with 60% of the vote, after the count was briefly halted by attacks on election officials. It is Africa’s second-largest producer of copper, a metal vital for the world’s energy transition keenly contested by China and the US.
